The trees are almost bare, the days are getting shorter, and those early morning runs are getting colder.

At BOCO, we know you don’t stop running once winter rears its frosty head. Even when the snow starts to fall, you’re up early (or heading outside after work) to get those miles in.

But before you hit the trail this winter, you need to have the right cold weather running gear to stay safe, warm, and comfortable. And why not get the best winter running gear recommendations from a whole team of endurance running pros?

We asked our BOCO Ambassadors to share their favorite cold weather running must-haves and why.

Where you live: Wales, U.K.

What are your favorite cold weather running must-haves and why?

I live in Wales and the weather can change in minutes! It’s often very wet and windy but not too cold. I always wear BOCO’s Converter Gloves, waterproof socks with either Salomon sense pros or Hoka Speedgoats for the mud and wet trails, and a BOCO Trucker (keeps my head warm enough, my hair under control and the rain out of my eyes), and neck gaiter! The rest depends on how windy and rainy it is!

What are your favorite cold weather running must-haves and why?

BOCO Gear Converter Gloves are my #1 cold weather running must-have! They are lightweight and very warm, the mitten flap is perfect for very cold runs and the ability to flip it back for a lighter glove is absolutely perfect.

The BOCO Pom Beanie is another favorite. It is SO WARM to wear on runs where the temperature is in the single digits or in the negatives.

My final cold weather must-have item is my BOCO Neck Gaiter. It is perfect to pull up and use as a face cover when the wind is brisk, or to use as a neck warmer on cold runs.
