The temps are rising, days are getting longer, and those early morning runs are getting warmer.

At BOCO Gear, we know you won’t let a little summer heat stifle your daily run. But before you start clocking your summer miles, you need to know what to wear running this season.

And who better to get recommendations for the best clothes for running in hot weather than a whole team of endurance running pros?

We asked our BOCO Ambassadors to share their favorite cooling clothing and accessories and why they’re a must-have. Read on to find your new favorite hot weather running gear!

What are your favorite pieces of summer/hot weather running gear that helps keep you cool?

BOCO visors and water bottles! I did just upgrade to a Nathan cooling vest with a bladder — I easily end up drenched in the summer because the heat in my body always goes straight to my upper body and face. I use a bottle for spraying my face and hair down then another for me to drink from.

I also don’t go anywhere without my goodr sunglasses. I’m up to over 30 pairs and can match them with any outfit or occasion!

BOCO hat + Goodr sunglasses are my favorite pieces of summer running gear! My pale, Irish skin mixed with the hot Colorado sun can be a recipe for disaster! I always wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen to protect my skin when I’m out on long summer runs.

On hot summer days, I keep a cooler in the car with water (and other beverages).  I also keep a cooling towel in the cooler.  It feels great to drape it around my neck after a long run.

The lighter the clothes the better. I tend to go to Craft or Rabbit. Also, a little bit of peppermint oil on the inside of the wrists or inside of the elbow (the elbow pit) if there is any breeze at all.
